Maya is very good for endgame. I personally run the trickster class mod that boosts fire rate. Beehawking is the easy way to go for her, but I also like to use the lady fist, pimpernel, and dpuh on occasion. Short answer: All of the characters can solo every raid boss. Long answer: It requires you to build properly and have a solid command of the game, but it can be done. Krieg in particular has a very easy time against certain raids, particularly Voracidous, Pete, and Terramorphous.Krieg+Maya is a quality combo imo. Once you're at UVHM and Maya has a Bee she can really utilise it cuz she won't be taking much damage thanks to the Krieg machine. Every class is brilliant. It is a solo game that has had co-op added on later. The game can be completed solo, everything done, highest level, including raid bosses. These can be trickier, but none are impossible solo.
